| The difference between ,later,latter,Late and lately |
The Difference Between:Late /Later/Lately/Latter.
Lots of English learner get confused when the use theses words.They do not know the difference in the meaning between each of them .We are going to explain each one of them ,and how to use them.
كثير من الطلبه يحتارون في التفريق اثناء استخدام بين هذه الكلمات و فيما يلي سوف نستعرض الفرق في المعني بينهم.
1) Late(متاخرا)
You use ''Late'' When you want to say that that something happens ,but after the expected time;It means not on time .It can be used as an adjective or adverb.For example,If you are late for school,that means that you go to school, after the school has started.
عندما نتحدث عن تاخر احد عن موعده المحدد او المتوقع وليس لها اي علاقه باي زمن سواء ماضي حاضر او مستقبل.فتسطيع ان تاتي في اي زمن كما في الامثله الاتيه.
Ex:
He always come late.
I am late for my father.He is going to kill me.
2)Later ( فيما بعد)
'' Later'' and ''Late'' cause confusion because students think that the they are the same.Later means recent,at time in the future,time after now .It is not used as a key word for any tense of English.
هذه الكلمه تعد من اصعبهم .لكي تفرق بينهم عليك ربطها بكلمه مؤخرا.وهي تدل علي المستقبل القريب جدا.
Ex:
See you later !
3)Lately (مؤخرا)
''Lately'' means recently, in the recent past or immediate past .''Lately'' is used as a key word for Present perfect .
تستخدم هذه الكلمه لكي تعبر عن حدث في الماضي القريب.وهي دائما ماتكون مربوطه بالمضارع التام.
Ex:
Lately,I have finished my work.
He has broken his leg lately.
3)Latter( الثاني من شيئين)
''Latter'' is used when you are talking about two things.You also can use it when you compare or choose between two things.The second is the one called the latter.
عندما نكون نتحدث عن المقارنه او الاختيار بين شيئين .الثاني منهما يكون latter
Ex:
John and Mike did the job,buy only the latter got appreciated.
This example means that only mike got appreciated.
My mother bought a short story and novel .I chose the latter.
That means I chose the novel .
